Our Funeral Fleet

Our pristine funeral fleet comprises of the prestigious Ford Cardinal Hearse, Ford Fairline Limousine, and Daimler DS420s Hearses and Limousines. Magnetic Funeral Flags are placed onto the bonnet of our funeral fleet and are available to principle mourners following the cortege in their own vehicle.

Ford Cardinal Hearse

The Ford Cardinal Hearse is based on a luxurious, executive vehicle manufactured by Ford Australia, renowned for its classical elegance, smooth refined performance and outstanding reliability. The vehicle is built to full EU specifications.

Features of the Cardinal Hearse include, a large flat deck with ample space for two coffins on the upper deck; 2 full size bearer seats with seat belts; leather upholstery in warm charcoal and lift up under deck door; Air-conditioning with climate control, comprehensive immobilizer system; coffin illumination halogen lights and reversing sensors.

The Hearse is fitted with a roof rack providing extra space for transporting floral tributes.

Ford Dorchester Limousine

The Ford Dorchester Limousine is based on a luxurious, executive saloon manufactured by Ford Australia, renowned for its classical elegance, smooth refined performance and outstanding reliability. The vehicle is built to full EU specifications.

Features of the Dorchester Limousine includes, Air conditioning with Auto climate control; full height electric division; leather upholstery in Warm Charcoal, centre bench seat with headrests and seatbelts; 6 way power adjustable driver and passenger seats and reserving sensors.

The Dorchester Limousine will carry up to 6 passengers and also has a glass division behind the chauffeur’s seat for privacy.

The prestigious DS420s Daimler has been in the Chelmsford Star Co-operative Funeral Services fleet for many years.

Ford Fairlane Estate

In May 2005 we introduced the Ford Fairlane Estate Car to our fleet. Built to full EU specification, the Ford Fairlane Estate is a first class stylish vehicle incorporating the latest in technology, Air Conditioning with Auto climate control.

The Ford Fairlane Estate is available to families who wish for a chauffeur driven vehicle suitable to carry up to 4 passengers.

The Limousines are extremely spacious vehicles and are fitted with fold-down occasional seats, providing seating for up to 6 passengers with a glass division behind the chauffeur’s seat for privacy. Traditionally in Black, we are also able to arrange these vehicles in White.

The Daimler DS420s hearse is fitted with a roof rack providing extra space for transporting floral tributes. The Hearse can also be used as a floral hearse, if required.

Hearses & Limousines

Our fleet of Hearses and Limousines are also available for Private Hire with Fully Comprehensive Insurance Cover. Please telephone 0800 028 4808 for more information, Terms and Conditions and costs.

Traditional Horse-Drawn Coaches

In addition to our motor fleet, Chelmsford Star Co-operative Funeral Services can also offer the traditional Horse-drawn hearse and mourning coach driven by fully qualified and experienced coachmen. The Horse-drawn is available with either Black Friesions (Belgian Blacks), or White Hearse and White Horses. The beautiful and majestic horses are available in teams of two, four and six all adorned in typical funeral attire.
